Sara advises and acts in a broad range of civil and commercial matters with a particular focus on employment, commercial, insolvency, professional negligence and personal injury cases.
Sara was appointed to the C Panel of counsel serving the Commission for Equality and Human Rights with effect from 2 March 2015 for a term of 4 years
Sara has significant experience of employment law and has appeared in multi week tribunal claims as well as in the Employment Appeal Tribunal unled. She represents both employers and employees in the whole spectrum of employment issues, with an emphasis on discrimination claims. She has a specific interest in the overlap between stress at work claims with mental health disability actions bought in the High Court and employment tribunal.
Additionally she has advised on other claims under the Equality Act 2010 including provision of services and education law which includes experience of the SEND tribunal. Her education law practice is informed by her role as a school governor for a primary school in London, when she was appointed in February 2011.
Sara has appeared in a number of commercial, company and insolvency disputes in the High Court and county courts. She deals with claims involving breach of fiduciary duty against directors, issues of fraud and unjust enrichment and personal insolvency. In particular, she has an interest in obtaining injunctive relief both in the High Court and county courts. This encompasses restrictive covenant cases on which she has advised as well as given talks, including to the Solicitors Group national conferences in 2013 and 2014.
Sara regularly undertakes professional negligence claims including cases pursued against a range of legal professionals. She has a specific interest in work involving underlying litigation in the employment and commercial spheres.
